     On the bottom of my blog I added a slideshow of some pictures of math. Of course we are able to see them but unfortunately they are a bit tiny. So, I am going to add some pictures that I found which I enjoyed!

The Left Hand Side of the Page

     Hello! I have added a few things to the left hand side of the page. I have added links to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), some professional organizations, and some fun games that will aid our learning.

     I added the Illinois State Board of Education because it literally gives information of education on about anything within the state if Illinois. If I was a new teacher coming to teach in Illinois, the first website I would want to check out is the Illinois State Board of Education website.

     The professional organizations that I posted links of are the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the American Mathematical Society, and the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. I posted these professional organizations because they were some organizations that promoted math in a positive manner. There were definitely more than three that I was able to find but I felt that these three stood out the most. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is an organization where math teachers can come together to help each other by ensuring high quality learning of math. The American Mathematical Society is an organization that promotes mathematical research, which helps the progression of mathematical understanding and skills. The Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics is an organization that helps build strong relations between math and other scientific and technological communities.

     Games are very helpful to our learning. It makes the environment fun because everyone is having fun including yourself. It also does not make learning boring. Games help make learning fun! This is why I posted a few links to some games. If you would like for me to post more games I would be glad to!

Math, The AWESOME Subject

     What do you think about math? Most people I know is afraid of math or is disgusted by it. But we should not be ether of those things because Math is essential to our future. Math challenges us. Humans need to be challenged. Math does not only help by teaching us to be good with numbers, but it also helps us with our mental process. It helps us think about ways to solve a problem. People have issues every day whether it is in the work place or at home or anywhere! Math helps us learn the problem-solving process.

     Math is the perfect subject that challenges our brain. It is perfect because we struggle to find the solution to the problem. We have to work hard in order to solve the problem. But when we solve the problem, we get happy! Our feelings of stress have turned to joy. The hard work payed off. Have you ever solved a math problem and felt great about it after? You get that satisfying feeling every time you solve a problem! This is similar to our life. There is no better feeling in life when we struggle through something in life and work hard to overcome it, and then achieve. That is what makes Math so fun! This also helps make people smarter. This is why Math is so AWESOME!
